Review: I have been aware on Wilderness Trail for many years but initially their price point put them out of reach for me. It also seemed a bit too heavy handed and easy to feature on my channel. All of that changed one fateful day when I wondered into Trail Head Liquor in Bend, OR. I asked what some of their favorites were and they pointed me to a few store picks. One of those was this bottle of Wilderness Trail. In my opinion, Wilderness Trail uses a high amount of rye and malted barely in their mash bill. This provides a bit of a spicey and rich palate. It drinks older and at a lower proof in my opinion. If you are looking for a sweet and spicey bourbon to warm you up while out on trail, this may be the one for you. Cheers!

My Rating:  Sip it!

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.

Cheers!

Rating scale:

-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk.

-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
