Review: Living in the Pacific Northwest, I have seen the Trail’s End products from Hood River Distillers on the shelves at my local liquor stores for quite some time. I had always been a bit gun shy as they were sourcing Kentucky Bourbon and finishing it in one of my least favorite oaks, Oregon Oak. However, I began to hear good things about the 10 year specifically from the likes of It’s Bourbon Night and others on YouTube. When The Bourbon Van on YouTube mentioned they have their own Single Barrel pick available, I jumped at the chance to order. The nose is dense, likely due to its 123 proof but it drinks closer to 100 proof in my opinion. The palate is classic bourbon and a bit simplistic but still rich at the same time. Vanilla, sweetness and oak are the primary flavors for me but I bet more could be teased out with a few drops of water. Overall, this is a good value for a single barrel cask strength bourbon and it is classic bourbon without being like every other bottle out there. Cheers!
My Rating: Sip it!
May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.
Cheers!
Rating scale:

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk.
-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.
-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
