Review:

Talisker 10 was the whisky that made me fall in love with smokey scotches. During a Scotch tasting dinner I was shown how vigorously rubbing your hands together with a few drops of whiskey on them would burn off the alcohol and leave the concentrated scents on your hands. After doing that with Talisker I was instantly transported to the Oregon Coast where, in my mind, I was sitting next to a campfire listening to the waves crash.

Talisker Storm seems like a slightly enhanced Talisker 10. The brine note is fantastic and after acclimating you can pick out sweet stone fruit and caramel on the tongue. To me it is a nice mix of sweet and smokey without being over powering. If you are looking to test the waters of Smokey Scotches this may be a wonderful place to start. Cheers!

My Rating: Stock it. A wonderfully smokey and sweet pour.

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.

Cheers!

Rating scale:

-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk.

-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
