Review: I have been a fan of Penelope Bourbon since I picked up my first bottle while traveling in Denver. Sadly they are not available in the Pacific Northwest, at least at this point. When Kurt from SLB Basement Bourbon Bar on YouTube offered to send me a bottle of Valencia, I jumped at the opportunity. I have always loved finding orange notes in bourbons and this whiskey that is finished in Orange Wine Casks takes that to 11. Both the nose and taste offer large amounts of orange while not over powering the traditional sweet and oaky notes of the bourbon. If you are into orange flavor this may be the bourbon for you. Cheers!

My Rating: Sip it if you like orange.

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.

Cheers!

Rating scale:

-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk.

-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
