Review:

Ever since I fell in love with Jefferson’s Ocean Aged at Sea Voyage 16 I have been collecting everything I can find from Jefferson’s. I love their unique approach to aging and finishing their bourbons. I have often found many of the Ocean’s offerings to be a bit of a letdown, especially when you take the $90 price into account. That being said Voyage 24, which spent its finishing time in the Caribbean, has been a favorite of mine so I was intrigued to see what the heat and humidity of 18 months spent finishing in Singapore would do. The classic bourbon notes are there on the nose and palate with a bit more of a toasted flavor. It drinks easier than its 104 proof would lead you to think and it is packed with flavor. Its steep price tag is the only thing keeping me from giving it a “Stock” rating. Cheers!

My Rating: Sip it. Better than most of the last 10 Ocean’s Voyages.

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.

Cheers!

Rating scale:

-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk.

-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
