Review: I picked up my bottle of George Dickel Chill Filtered Rye after hearing 60SecondBourbonReview on TikTok say it tasted just like Seagrass from Barrel Spirits. I had a feeling he was joking and I was correct. However, I was pleasantly surprised how tasty it was. Using MGP’s now famous 95/5 rye mash bill it is charcoal filtered (ala Tennessee Whiskey style) and bottled at 90 proof. This is very similar to the Bulleit Rye but with additional Sugar Maple filtering and a lower price tag in my area. This rye makes for a decent cocktail as it has a little proof to it and is fun enough to try and pick out some of the nuances that are offered. Overall, it is a cheap pour that may be worth having in your bar. Cheers!

My Rating: Sip/Stock. If you need a decent rye on your shelf this may not be a bad option.

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.

Cheers!

Rating scale:

-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk.

-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
