Ezra Brooks 90 Proof

My Price: $15.95

Country/Area: USA/ Kentucky

Distillery: Bottled by Lux Row Distillers (Thought to be sourced from Heaven Hill)

Proof/ABV: 90 Proof/ 45% ABV

Mash Bill: 78% Corn 12% Rye 10% Malted Barley

Barrel: New American Oak

Age: No Age Statement (4+ years)

Nose: Metallic Vanilla, Carmel and Hay

Taste: Cereal, Leather and Vanilla Frosting

Review:

Although it presents with more savory wood than I was expecting from the 78% corn mash bill, I do enjoy the vanilla and oak presence. This bourbon is not going to knock your socks off but it is a fairly easy sipper and adds some great oak notes to a Coke or Dr. Pepper. For a sub $20 price tag it is worth trying out.

My Rating: Sip it! It is a great bang for the buck bourbon.

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.

Cheers!

Rating scale:

-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk.

-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
