Review: This bottle was gifted to me back when you could occasionally see these bottled behind the counter at the liquor store. I understand why those days are gone, at least in price controlled stores like Oregon. EH Taylor manages to pack a whole lot of flavor into a 100 proof whiskey. I’m not sure I can remember the last time I picked up so much green apple and caramel in a bourbon. The classic corn and bread notes jump to the front of the palate and the finish is long lasting with bits of leather and very subtle tobacco. Best enjoyed neat but cheap enough (if you can find it at retail) to make up the best old fashioned you’ve had.

My Rating: Stock it if you can find it.

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.

Cheers!

Rating scale:

-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk.

-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
