Review: Mellow Corn is unique in the whiskey world as it is a very high corn mash bill and is aged in used bourbon barrels. Add in a fairly long aging process of 4 years to achieve the bottled-in-bond status and you have a flavorful yet fairly simple whiskey. Due to the lack of rye or wheat in the mash bill and the more subtle wood impact due to the used barrels, you are left with a fairly sweet whiskey. But just because it is simple does not make it a bad whiskey. It is an easy sipper and is a nice way to add a sweet whiskey touch to your favorite soft drink. At the low price of $23 for a 100 proof whiskey it is a great budget option and shows off what corn really brings to the whiskey game.

My Rating:

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.

Cheers!
