Review: Redbreast has long been my favorite Irish whiskey. When I came across the cask strength version at my local liquor store I jumped at the chance to pick up a bottle. I was not disappointed. It seems that somehow they were able to crank up the classic Redbreast flavors without blowing you away with an ethanol burn. Caramel apple and shortbread with jam jumps out of the glass. The finish lingers nicely and leaves you wanting more. Its unusual to say but this near $90 whiskey is a bargain.

My Rating: Stock it if you can find it.

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.

Cheers!

Rating scale:

-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk.

-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
