Bushmills 10 Year Single Malt

My Price: $64.95

Country/Area: County Antrim, Northern Ireland

Distillery: The Old Bushmills Distillery

Proof/ABV: 82 Proof/ 41% ABV

Mash Bill:100% Malted Barley

Barrel: Ex-bourbon and Olorso Sherry Casks

Age: 10 Years

Nose: Grain Dust, Vanilla, Honey

Taste: Buttered Toast, Burnt Caramel, Jam

Review: Full disclosure I initially purchased this bottle because my wife liked the box it came in. Upon first cracking it open I really did not care for the malt forward notes I got. However, after giving it some time to open up and possibly developing my own palate a bit I began to enjoy this 10 year old single malt offering from Bushmills. The nose is heavy with vanilla and oak and the taste is sweet with slight hints of fruit and jam. My only gripe is its low proof point at only 82 proof. It is easy and approachable and different enough to stand apart from the traditional Irish whiskies.Cheers!

My Rating: Sip it. A unique Irish whiskey worth checking out!

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.

Cheers!

Rating scale:

-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk.

-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
