Review: I first tried Aimsir at a local event in Portland and fell in love with the deep coffee notes in the bourbon. Aimsir is a female run distillery in Portland Oregon that is probably best known for their Gin (their Holiday Gin is also fantastic). This Indiana sourced wheated bourbon is proofed down using Cold Brew from Juniors Roasted Coffee, also from Portland. This gives off deep and roasty coffee notes without being bitter or overly sweet like Kahlua. Because of this it makes for a nice pour over ice or added to your weekend cup of coffee.

My Rating: Sip it. Different enough to stand out but will probably get mixed and that’s a high price tag for a mixer.

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.

Cheers!

Rating scale:

-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk.

-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
