Review:
I have long been a fan of trekking poles. Growing up hiking in the Columbia River Gorge meant elevation was an everyday way of life. I came to love the added stability of trekking poles just as much on the way down hill as up. It took me many years and a fair share of blisters before I realized having a cork handle helped absorb the sweat and prevented blisters. It also took a near disastorous moment on trail to learn that the barrel or twist lock style trekking poles should probably not be trusted with your safety. Enter the carbon fiber bodied, cork handled and flick lock style trekking pole from Cascade Mountain Tech. Add in the fact that they are budget friendly and low weight and you have a trekking pole that will always have a place in my garage. They may not be the lightest or even my favorite trekking pole but I find myself using them on adventure after adventure. Their low cost means I don’t need to baby them and their carbon fiber construction makes them light enough to not carry if I have to toss them on my pack for a road walk.
My Rating: Buy them and learn how to properly use them.
Rating scale:

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.
Cheers!
