Taste: Good curry flavor without much spice. Nuanced flavors of citrus and lemongrass. Not the most authentic but delicious none the less.
Texture: Large chunks of chicken along with veggies and rice all rehydrated well. The sauce was thick without being “gloopy”
Overall Score: But it!
Notes:
Mountain House Adventure Meals have been a long-time staple in my backpack. The Lasagna, Beef Stroganoff and Chili Mac have been favorites of mine for years. Now there is a new contender for top 3 Mountain House Meals. The burst of flavor with the just right chicken and rice surprised me a bit the first time I tried it. I am use to adding seasoning and hot sauce to my dehydrated meals but it was not needed in this instance. Not saying it couldn’t use a bit more heat but it was not needed. I was able to find the Yellow Curry at my local outdoor store which makes it easy to pick up when you’re headed to the trailhead.
May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey. Cheers!
