Taste: Slightly sweet maple sausage meets the rich gravy and the savory biscuits.

Texture: Small biscuit chunks rehydrate nicely. Not too thin and not too thick gravy worked perfectly with the small sausage chunks.

Overall Score: Buy it. To date the best Biscuits and Gravy on trail!

Notes: That above statement is a bold one. Mountain House makes an excellent Biscuits and Gravy as does Peak Refuel. The problem with those two is they tend to be gut bombs. High in calories and dense in flavor which always leaves me sluggish and ready for bed again. This is not the case with this new offering from Gastro Gnome. The slight sweetness from the Maple Sausage pairs so nicely with the not too thick, not too thin gravy and the small biscuits rehydrate wonderfully. The 690 calories left me feeling full without weighing me down and making me feel sluggish. A splash of hot sauce and a pinch more salt and pepper and you may have my new favorite breakfast on trail.
