Review:

As a bit of a book nerd I was very intrigued when I first heard of Writers Tears years ago. Once I got around to buying a laptop to start writing for this website, I decided it only made since to finally pick up this bottle.

Comprised of 60% copper pot still whiskey and 40% malt whiskey it is aged at least 4 years in ex-bourbon barrels. It has a very classic Irish Whiskey nose and palate. It packs good flavor for its low 80 proof. Its price is a bit high in my area and I would like a bit more drama for something named Writers Tears but it is still worth trying if you come across a bottle in a bar or at your local liquor store.

My Rating: Sip it! Worthy a try for a really good classic style Irish Whiskey.

Rating scale:

-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk.

-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.

Cheers!
