Review:

Woodford Reserve is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Although easy to approach and considered simple by some, I feel like Woodford Reserve embodies what a traditional bourbon should taste like. Sweet yet slightly spiced. Smooth but with a little bite. The first time I had Woodford Reserve I was blown away by how much butterscotch jumped out of the glass. After sitting with it for a while I was able to pick up on some of the leather and fruit notes. Although the price has crept up a little in my area it will continue to have a home in my bar. It is a go to for friends who want to dip their toes into the bourbon pond.

My Rating: Stock it!

Price has been going up but Woodford Reserve continues to deliver on easy to approach flavor with that telltale bourbon sweetness.

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.

Cheers!

Rating scale:

-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk.

-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
