Review: The classic Tullamore D.E.W. has been a staple in my bar for many years. I have come to love other whiskies finished in rum casks so it was only natural for me to pick up this bottle of Tullamore DEW XO Caribbean Rum Cask Finish. Being finished in first fill Guyana Demerara rum casks adds additional sweetness and just a little bit of funk. The nose has Jack Daniel’s levels of banana and the taste offers something that is obviously barley forward but more complex than its $30 price tag would lead. If you are a fan of sweeter budget whiskies, this may be the bottle for you. Cheers!

My Rating: Stock it if you like sweeter whiskies.
