Evan Williams

My Price: 14.95

Country/Area: Kentucky, USA

Distillery: Heaven Hill Distillery

Proof/ABV: 86 Proof/43% ABV

Mash Bill: 78% Corn, 10% Rye, 12% Malted Barely

Barrel: New American Oak

Age: NAS (at least 4 years old)

Nose: Oak, Metallic Vanilla, Bread

Taste:  Toasted Wood, Corn Dust, Vanilla Frosting

Review: Evan Williams taste a bit older than it probably is. The wood is present and dare I say, close to overly oaky. The sweetness is not overpowering and nicely compliments the oak tannins. Easy to drink at 86 proof and easy on the wallet at $15 a bottle in my area, this may be a worth while whiskey to have in your bar. Cheers!

My Rating: Stock it if you’re looking for a lower proof budget bourbon.

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.

Cheers!

Rating scale:

-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk.

-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
