Review:

After one of my cats bit and broke the buckle on my Waymark Mile Daypack I was at a bit of a loss as to how to fix it. The buckle was sewn on both ends and I was not looking forward to having to source a buckle and then figure out how to sew it back in place. Thankfully I vaguely remembered seeing a “repair buckle” at a craft store years ago. After some online sleuthing I came up with a 15mm 2-pin repair buckle from Sea to Summit. The webbing it was going on was only 10mm wide but 15mm seemed to be the smallest repair buckle available. After using a pair of side cutters to remove the damaged buckle from the webbing I simply screwed the pins in place on either side with a dab of blue Loctite to help keep it there. The buckle is a little heavier than stock but I will happily take the weight penalty to avoid having to remove the straps and sew them back in place. If you have a damaged buckle then these may be the easiest way to fix it. Cheer!

My Rating: Buy it.

Rating scale:

-Bypass: This isn’t worth the money.

-Borrow: Handy but may or may not be worth your money.

-Buy: Get one. You’ll love it!

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.

Cheers!
