Despite Lowe Alpines extensive history in the outdoor world, the first time I came across one of their bags was at PCT Days in 2021. I loved that they offered a smallish day pack with a full frame that provided great ventilation and a comfortable carry if you pack small but heavy. It took a little bit to find the exact model for sale online but I quickly placed an order and it showed up in a few short weeks.

Because I often pack bottles of whiskey and camera gear when I am out on a day hike this bag really excelled for me. It can carry 15lbs comfortably and helps keep my back from getting completely soaked with sweat. The front mesh pocket makes for easy stowing of rain gear or food and the small pocket on top perfectly holds my headlamp, keys and wallet.

My Rating: Buy it if you tend to pack heavy items on your day hikes!
