Notes:

The very first product I ever put the Top Shelf Backpacking logo on was a pee rag for my wife know as the Kula Cloth. When I requested the custom-made Kula the owner, Anastasia, reached out to me to ask some questions. When she learned what Top Shelf Backpacking was all about, she recommended a company named Trail Toddy to me. I quickly placed an order for a sampler of the Trail Toddy kits as I am a big fan of Hot Toddies. A few months later Trail Toddy announces on their Instagram that they are releasing a new product called Trail Toddy Irish Coffee. I immediately picked up the samplers and took to the trail. Today I am reviewing the Classic flavor which has just a hint of coco. I have tried it with various whiskies including different Irish offerings as well as my go to bourbons. So far, my favorite pairing has been to add 1.5oz of Hazelnut Espresso Vodka from Crater Lake Spirits. The Irish Coffee on its own is a bit too sweet and overpowering for my taste. If I just want a good cup of coffee, I will likely turn to something like CS Instant Coffee. But if I want something delicious and boozy then these are my go-to coffee. I’ve been known to enjoy a cup or two on the Trail Toddy Irish Coffee and at home even. No trail required.

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey. Cheers!
