Taste: Fantastic spice notes. Not too spicy.

Texture: Did not notice any change in texture once added to food.

Overall Score: Buy. If you are a spice lover this is a great lightweight and easy way to add some spice to your life.

Notes: I often bring hot sauce when backpacking but it can be a cumbersome task. Most sauces come in large and heavy containers so I have to portion them out into backpacking sized plastic bottles. These bottles occasionally leak which means all of my food packaging becomes spicy but none of the food inside. When the Hot Sauce Powder became available, I bought a couple pouches and hoped I would enjoy the flavor. The first dish I tried it on was a flavor packed Beef Stroganoff from Peak Refuel. I didn’t feel the meal needed any spice but wanted to try. I was pleasantly surprised at how much better the meal tasted after adding a teaspoon or so of Hot Sauce Powder and mixing it thourghly. The next test was a Paloma Fiz Cocktail form Trail Toddy. We used the Hot Sauce Powder to rim the glass and it was one of the best cocktails I’ve had on trail or off. I look forward to trying the Hot Sauce Powder on many more meals and cocktails.

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey. Cheers!
