Review: All of the Weller products are hard to come by in my neck of the woods. When I first was getting into bourbon the Antique 107 had a screw top and was only a few dollars more than the Special Reserve and could be found on any given liquor store shelf. This means when I saw a bottle of Weller 12 on a small town grocery store shelf for $60, I jumped at the chance to get it. On the nose it is surprisingly oaky despite its lower proof point. That probably speaks to the whiskies age at 12 years old. The taste is sweet and approachable but rather simple and sweet for its price point. It is a worth while bottle at its MSRP of $50 but I’m not sure I’d pay much more than that and call it any kind of value. Cheers!

My Rating: Sip it for the right price.

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.

Cheers!

Rating scale:

-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk.

-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
