Review:
The Coyote Wall trail on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge offers various connecting trails, each with its own unique views of the river. My trip started from the Coyote Wall parking area where I headed east along an old road bed before connecting to the Labyrinth trail heading north. A GPS or a map and compass is highly recommended as not all of the numerous trail junctions offer signage. The trails are used by mountain bikers and there is the possibility of dangerous wildlife such as snakes, spiders and coyotes. Because of that I recommend leaving at least one ear bud out and carry trekking poles. The trail is steep in parts and can be muddy during the colder months. The trail head will fill up in the summer so get there early or complete this hike when temps are lower. If you can plan to hike it on a clear day you will be rewarded with views of Mt Hood, The Dalles and the Beautiful Columbia River. The Labyrinth trail eventually connects heading west before switchbacking its way south where you will connect with the road bed and hike the short stem of the lollipop back to the trail head where there is a vault toilet and a bit of shade.

Rating Guide:
-Gram it: Check out the pictures on Instagram because this one is not worth seeing in person.
-Hike it: It’s short and sweet. Might as well knock it out in a day.
-Bag it: Pack a bag and spend the night.
-Bring a friend: Easy enough to bring a friend. Maybe this is where you can introduce someone to backpacking.
-Come Back: I will keep doing this trip it is so good!
