Review: The Cleetwood Cove Hike is the only way to access the beautiful blue waters of Crater Lake. The hike is fairly short but also fairly steep at 700 feet of elevation gain in the 1.1 miles hike from the short back to the trailhead. The hike is popular and often very crowded on the weekends in the summer time. The switchbacks are frequent and the stops are many unless you are in fantastic shape. Once you hike the 1.1 miles down to the shore there are very rocky areas to traverse to get down to the water itself. Bring sandals or aqua shoes and a towel to dry off as to not be completely covered in dust on your return trip to the trail head. If all you want are amazing views this may not be the hike for you in Crater Lake National Park. If you’ve always wanted to dip your feet into the beautiful blue waters or take a boat tour of the Lake then this hike is a must. Cheers!

Rating Guide: Come back!
-Gram it: Check out the pictures on Instagram because this one is not worth seeing in person.
-Hike it: It’s short and sweet. Might as well knock it out in a day.
-Bag it: Pack a bag and spend the night.
-Bring a friend: Easy enough to bring a friend. Maybe this is where you can introduce someone to backpacking.
